The International Tournament of Young Mathematicians was born in 2009 in France.
It was first organised by David Zmiaikou,
a Ph.D. student at the University Paris-Sud at the time,
inspired by Barys Zadvorny and with the help of
Martin Andler, Bernardo da Costa, Samuel Lelièvre and François Lo Jacomo.
